2018: Brooklyn Voted Brooklyn Technical High School Best Trade School!
Brooklyn Technical High School
29 Fort Greene Place / (718) 804-6400
Brooklyn Technical High School, most commonly referred to as Brooklyn Tech, is the cream of the crop when it comes to trade schools in the borough. The New York City public high school was established close to a century ago in 1922. Since then, it has gone on to become of the most prestigious and selective high schools in all of the United States. One of just three original specialized high schools operated by the New York City Department of Education, Brooklyn Tech counts top scientists, inventors, innovators, CEOs and founders of Fortune 500 companies and more among its alumni. Each November, about 30,000 eighth and ninth graders take the school’s three-house admittance test, of which only 1,900 to 1,950 make the cut each year. The school is an impressive 12 stories high and covers over half of a city block. Couple its size, boisterous facility, dedicated staff – and even its view of Fort Greene Park – with its stellar academics and it’s easy to see why Brooklyn Tech was named the best trade school in the borough.
