Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is truly a star of soul food. Its Brooklyn location, rooted on Union Street in Cobble Hill, serves up southern-style meats and draft brews in a retro setting that is sure to have just about anybody coming back for seconds (and even thirds and fourths). The chain’s barbecue, which was first born in 1983, is nationally acclaimed. So, it’s no surprise that its food and sauces continue to take home bragging rights with its Brooklyn location, which first opened in June 2013. Since then, it’s been serving up fan-favorites from the BBQ Chili Nachos (loaded with pulled pork, A.K. chili, house queso, picked onion, jalapeños, tomato and chipotle crema) to the Dino Poutine (hand-cut fries smothered in beef gravy, house pimento cheese, pulled pork, pickled jalapeno and crispy belly cracklings) to their signature pit plates, available in pork, brisket and “bbq half bird.” They also serve up “custom ‘cue,” making Dinosaur the one to beat for barbecue borough-wide.
